Free workshops - Community Safety & Zero Carbon Communities

Saturday, 7 March 2020 9:30 am - Saturday, 7 March 2020 4:30 pm

South Cambs District Council are pleased to announce that they will be hosting a joint Community Safety Event and Zero Carbon Communities Workshop:

Location: Council Chambers, South Cambridgeshire Hall, Cambourne Business Park, Cambourne, Cambridge, CB23 6EA

The day will be divided into two parts:

AM (9:30-12:30) Community Safety and Resilience Event:

This annual event follows a very successful day on 9 March 2019 where communities came together to share best practice in creating safe, connected communities.  This year’s session will again be led by South Cambs Community Safety Partnership members, including Police, Fire, County Council and South Cambs District Council.  The aim of the day is to explore ways in which community-led action can reduce vulnerability to crime and anti-social behaviour in the district. Agenda to follow soon.

PM (13:30-16:30) Zero Carbon Communities workshop
This is the first of 4 workshops as part of our Zero Carbon Communities (ZCC) programme aimed at Parish Councils and local green groups. In the first workshop we would like to help address the challenges our District faces in delivering its net zero carbon ambitions. We will include presentations from various groups such as Cambridge Carbon footprint and some of our other successful ZCC grant recipients. We will also be providing tabletop exercises to identify the key challenges faced, how to overcome them and find solutions.

We would be delighted if you could join us. If you would like to attend, please respond to this email indicating whether you will be attending:
  • Both sessions
  • Morning session only
  • Afternoon session only
Lunch will be provided, however please let us know if this is required so we can cater accordingly.

Many thanks,
