Transparency Code
The Transparency Code for Smaller Authorities came into effect in July 2015. It is intended to meet the government's desire to place more power into citizens' hands in order to increase democratic accountability. They believe this will provide the transparency required to give local people the tools and information they need to hold local public bodies such as parish councils to account and to be assured of their financial and governance arrangements.
Full details of the Code can be found on the government website https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/transparency-code-for-smaller-authorities
In March 2017 LAPC confirmed that it was compliant with the minumum requirements of the Code .
